T Engida

Abstract

This study reports the state of education and outreach activities in Africa with particular reference to the chemical weapons convention (CWC) of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) that was established in 1997 and based in The Hague, The Netherlands. The study employed various approaches like administering tests to chemistry students, secondary school chemistry teachers and chemistry lecturers in a selected university. The findings suggest that a lot has to be done in order to fully and effectively promote the ideals of the CWS among the various stakeholders.
