Focus and Scope
African Journal Of Oral Health (AJOH) is a quarterly publication aimed at disseminating knowledge that will enhance the practice of oral health, particularly in Africa
Scope
The Journal will publish articles which contribute significantly to oral health research and practice on the African continent. Contributions would be welcomed from all parts of the world. It will publish: (a) Original research reports not previously published (except in the form of an abstract or preliminary report) and only when they are not being considered for publication elsewhere.
(b) Letters relating to materials previously published in African Journal Of Oral Health or to topical issues relevant to the practice of dentistry.
(c) Update articles surveying the present state of knowledge in selected fields of Dental and oral health.
(d) Critical or analytical reviews in the area of theory, policy, or research in Dentistry.
(e) Reviews of recently published books or group of books which would be of relevance to the improvement of oral health in Africa.
(f) Short reports of scientific meetings, news items, activities and functions of the IADR and other dental associations.

Articles
Peer Review Process
Contributors of original papers will have their articles sent anonymously to at least two independent referees. Letters will be evaluated by the editors only. Articles appearing as supplements would be evaluated for publication by the editorial board. It will be a condition of acceptance of a manuscript for publication that the Editors shall have the right to edit the text to improve its clarity and to make it conform to Journal style.

International Association for Dental Research (Nigerian Division)
A Brief History
The Nigerian Division of the International Association for Dental Research was inaugurated, officially, on the 26th of June 2002 during the first Annual Scientific Congress held at the Conference Centre, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Prof. Eyitope O. Ogunbodede convened this maiden congress. The Association was formally approved as a Section by the IADR Central Board at the 81st Annual IADR Congress held in Goteburg, Sweden in June 2003. The Division successfully held its Second annual Scientific Congress at the Banquet Hall, University of Benin, Benin-City, Nigeria from September 2 to 5, 2003. The Nigerian Division is the only one in the West African Sub-region and other countries such as Ghana, Gambia, Senegal and Ivory Coast have indicated interest in being part of the Division. The two Scientific Congresses held till date have had members attending not only from Nigeria but also other West African Countries. Membership of the section comprises of frontline dental researchers in the West African sub-region. The Association attained Divisional status at the 82nd IADR Congress held from March 10-13, 2004 at Honolulu, USA. The Third Annual Congress of the Division was held from August 31 to September 3, 2004 at the Hill Station hotel in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.
