Peer Review

A manuscript will be evaluated and reviewed for possible publication with the understanding that it is being submitted to International Journal of Medicine and Biomedical Research alone at that point in time and has not been published anywhere, simultaneously submitted, or already accepted for publication elsewhere. It is expected that authors would authorize one of them to correspond with the Journal for all matters related to the manuscript. All manuscripts received are duly acknowledged. On submission, editors evaluate all submitted manuscripts initially for suitability for formal review. Manuscripts that are short of the Journal’s standard or out of scope are rejected. Manuscripts and figures are not returned to the authors, not even upon rejection of the paper. Suitable manuscripts are peer-reviewed by two or more reviewers who are vast in the field and are not affiliated with the same institutes as the contributor(s). However, selection of reviewers is at the sole discretion of the editor. The Journal follows a single-blind review process. The comments and suggestions received from reviewers are conveyed to the corresponding author. The author is requested to provide a point by point response to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version of the manuscript. This process is repeated till reviewers and editors are satisfied with the manuscript. The papers submitted must meet the following criteria: • the topic should be of medical and biomedical interest • findings should have clinical significance • the abstract should be adequately informative • the material should be original • the methodology used should be standard, appropriate, and scientific • the statistical methods used should be correct and adequate • results should be unambiguous and supported with data/photographs • conclusions should be reasonable and based on the findings • references must be adequate IJMBR review process is constructive and unbiased. Reasons for rejection include: • out of journal’s scope • too preliminary • lack of novelty • evidence of plagiarism Manuscripts accepted for publication are copy edited and page proofs are sent to the corresponding author. The corresponding author is expected to return the corrected proofs within five days.
