African Journal of Social Work

The African Journal of Social Work is an international refereed journal that serves as a forum for exchanging ideas and knowledge and discussing issues relevant to social work practice, education and research in the African region. Producing 2 issues a year, the Journal is published by the National Association of Social Workers (Zimbabwe) and is committed to reflecting culturally relevant and appropriate social work practice in Africa. Social work is seen as a broad-based profession that can vary from individual casework to community development and policy-related concerns.

Journal of Social Development in Africa

The Journal of Social Development in Africa publishes analyses of social development issues as they affect the poor and marginalized. It deals especially with concerns relevant to sub Saharan Africa and is addressed to development and social workers, planners, policymakers and academics in a variety of fields. The Journal seeks to enhance understanding of the social development processes so as to contribute to the planning and implementation of appropriate intervention strategies at different levels. Its goal is to discover how to target projects that are relevant to those most in need and how to maximize popular participation to create egalitarian and productive communities.

SAFERE: Southern African Feminist Review

SAFERE provides women with a writing platform which is feminist in content and orientation, as well as facilitating for African women to express their ideas and interests through a medium which is supportive and encouraging of feminist opinions and positions. The Journal is one of barely a handful of feminist journals coming out of Africa, and through careful editing and the collection of high quality written work, it has established itself as a journal of world standing from the time it was first published in 1995.

Transactions of the Zimbabwe Scientific Association

The Zimbabwe Scientific Association was founded in Bulawayo in 1899 (called the Rhodesia Scientific Assocation at the time) to promote the study and advancement of science in Zimbabwe and to facilitate the acquisition and dissemination of scientific knowledge. Its journal, Transactions of the Zimbabwe Scientific Association, was first published in 1903 and is now in its seventy-second volume. It is a multi-disciplinary journal and publishes papers on any aspect of science in Zimbabwe or the southern African region.

The Transactions of the Zimbabwe Scientific Association has ceased publication.

Zimbabwe Journal of Educational Research

The Zimbabwe Journal of Educational Research comprised of four sections: Scholarly articles - reporting on research findings and policy issues relating to education and human resources issues in sub-Saharan Africa; Research in progress - reporting on major research projects and new human resource initiatives in the region; Research Organisations - reporting on local, regional and international research organisations; Literature Sources - evaluating books, reports and other materials of interest to human resource researchers.

ZJER CALL FOR PAPERS:

Research articles are invited from interested scholars and researchers in the academic community for publication in the July 2014 issue of the Zimbabwe Journal of Educational Research (ZJER).

Papers in the following specific issues and themes are welcome:

  1. The Teaching of Mathematics and Sciences in Africa
  2. Professionalism in African Educational Institution
  3. Research Methods and Ethics in Africa

Zimbabwe Veterinary Journal

Zimbabwe Veterinary Journal contains original and review papers on all aspects of animal health in Zimbabwe and SADC countries, including articles by non-veterinarians.

This journal did not publish any issues between 2002 and 2015 but has been revived and and it actively accepting papers and publishing from 2016.
