Peer Review Process
Editor reads the manuscript and then in consultation with a relevant editorial committee member selects two reviewers who are knowledgeable in the field/basic disciplines in which the research or review article falls. As Family Ecology / Consumer Science is a field of study that covers a wide range of sub-fields and is based on many different basic disciplines, the editorial committee members represent different sub-fields within Family Ecology/Consumer Science. Two experts in the relevant fields are asked to review the manuscripts. The reviewers get no information about the author/authors of the manuscript. On receipt of the blind reviews the editor sends the reviews as well as own comments to the authors. Should the two reviewers have opposing views as to the suitability of the manuscript for publication a third reviewer is asked for an evaluation.
Editor checks that the required changes have been made. Editor also control the technical requirements set out in the author’s guidelines. The authors have to supply a certificate from an accredited language editor that the article has been language edited, before it can be published.
