Author Guidelines

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS:

The following must be submitted to the Editor:
1. A letter of submission with
(i) the full address and e-mail particulars of the author(s) and the title of the paper. In the case of more than one author, the name of the author designated to receive the correspondence and to be responsible for the payment of the page fees, must be marked with an *.
(ii) titles, names, full addresses and email addresses of three scholars in the same field.
2. A copy of the paper per e-mail. Full address and e-mail particulars must also be on the paper. The Abstract must be on the same document.
Keywords must follow the Abstract.
• Electronic documents must be named with the author's surname.
• Submission of a paper is taken to imply that it has not been published elsewhere and that it is not under consideration elsewhere, and also that it is language edited.
• All manuscripts are sent to at least two scholars for blind peer review.
• Further information will be sent to the author(s) after the reviewing.
• Page fees
SAALT Members: R140 per printed page; Non-members: R160 per printed page

3. Word processing
Do not use capital letters to signify headings. Use bold and italics. Type heading, leave an open line, type next part of the text. Use 'Normal'. No preprogrammed styles. No automatic bullets and numbering. Diagrams and sketches must be in the Journal's format (MSWord / Hi-Res JPGs).
• Length: 5000-6000 words
• Abstract: All papers must have an English Abstract of approximately 150 words.

VOORLEGGING VAN MANUSKRIPTE
Die vlg. moet aan die Redakteur voorgelê word:
1. 'n Voorleggingsbrief met
(i) die volle adres- en e-posbesonderhede van die outeur(s) en die titel van die artikel. In die geval van meer as een outeur, moet die naam van die outeur aan wie die korrespondensie gerig moet word, en wat vir die betaling van die bladgelde verantwoordelik is, met 'n * gemerk word.
(ii) titels, name, volle adresse en e-posse van drie vakspesialiste in die betrokke veld.
2. 'n Kopie van die artikel per e-pos. Volle adresen e-posbesonderhede moet ook op die artikel verskyn. Die Abstract moet op dieselfde
dokument verskyn. Na die Abstract moet die Keywords volg.
• Elektroniese dokumente moet met die outeur se van benoem word.
• Dit word aanvaar dat 'n artikel wat voorgelê word, nie elders gepubliseer of vir oorweging is nie, asook dat dit taalversorg is.
• Alle artikels word naamloos vir keuring aan ten minste twee vakgenote gestuur.
• Verdere besonderhede word na keuring aan die outeur(s) gestuur.
• Bladgelde
SAVTO-lede: R140 per gedrukte bladsy
Nielede: R160 per gedrukte bladsy
Geen kleur
3. Woordverwerking
Geen hoofletter-opskrifte nie: Net vet en kursief. Tik opskrif, laat reël oop en tik volgende deel van die teks. Geen geprogrammeerde style nie. Geen outomatiese pyltjies en nommers nie. Diagramme en sketse moet in die tydskrif se formaat wees (MSWord / Hoë resolusie JPGs).
• Lengte: 5000-6000 woorde
• Abstract: Alle artikels moet voorsien wees van 'n Engelse Abstract van ongeveer 150 woorde.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
