Abstract

La mise en place du Service de la topographie au Dahomey dès le début de la colonisation a permis dans un premier temps, la réalisation de plusieurs projets d’aménagement et d’urbanisation. Ensuite, il a été réorganisé pour lui permettre de faire face aux nouveaux défis de son temps. Ainsi, renommée Service topographique et du Cadastre, il a continué à servir l’aménagement du territoire et a utilisé la gestion et les interventions foncières pour procurer des ressources à l’administration. Exclusivement animé dans un premier temps par des cadres français, le Service topographique et du Cadastre a connu avec le temps, l’intervention de Géomètres et dessinateurs Dahoméens. Preuve que cette discipline ne laissait déjà plus indifférents les « indigènes ».

ABSTRACT
The implementation of the Department of the topography in Dahomey from the beginning the colonization allowed at first, the realization of several projects of development and urbanization. Then, it was reorganized to allow to face the new challenges of its time. So, renamed topographic department and the land registry, it continued to serve the country planning and used the management and the land interventions to get resources to the administration. Exclusively livened up at first by French executives, the topographic Department and the land registry knew in time, the intervention of land surveyors and draftsmen of Dahomey. The proof is that this discipline hadn't already left any more unmoved the « natives ».
