Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Moor Journal of Agricultural Research, (Moor J. Agric. Res.) a biannual International Journal is published by the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Obafemi Awolowo University, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, Nigeria. It is unique in many respects.

1. As a University based multicommodity Research Institute, the Institute has an unlimited latitude to research into virtually all phases of Agriculture - crops, livestock, farming systems, agricultural economics/rural sociology, agricultural engineering, basic and applied agricultural sciences to mention a few. The Journal will consequently feature these and other disciplines.
2. The Institute deals more with applied farmer oriented research. Thus the Journal will feature articles that will not only be useful for the scientific community but will also consider articles that will be relevant to large/small scale farmers and the rural dwellers.
3. IAR&T is a Zonal Coordinating Research Institute. It is not only in close collaboration with, but also supervises adaptive research and Research Extension Farmer Input Linkage System (REFILS) activities in the eight south-west Agricultural Development Programmes. This rare opportunity places the Institute in a unique position to interact closely with Research, Extension, Farmers and Inputs agencies to disseminate and receive information on improved technologies. These experiences/exposure will be invaluable in reaching the grass root with necessary information on much needed, demand driven agricultural technolgies.

Thus, special features of this Journal include (among others) emphasis on:-
*Soil, Crop and Animal Science
*Basic and Applied Sciences related to Agriculture
*Agricultural Economics/Rural Sociology
*Environmental Sciences
*Products derivation etc.

Peer Review Process

Each paper is sent to two reviewers. The Editorial Board consisting of the Editor-In-Chief, Editor and the two Associate Editors take decision. The Editorial Advisers are also consulted before final decision is taken on reviewed papers.
