ANTIPYRETIC ACTIVITY OF RUMEX NEPALENSIS ROOTS
Abstract
The antipyretic effect of the hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts obtained from Rumex nepalensis (Polygonaceae) roots was investigated in rats at 500 mg/kg by oral route. The investigation results showed that hexane and methanol extracts have significant antipyretic activity. The results provide a scientific rationale for the folklore claim as an antipyretic agent.
