A pharmacognostic evaluation of the rhizome Curcuma aromatica showed moisture content of 43.4%, total ash 6.2%, acid insoluble ash 0.5%, alcohol
soluble extractives 7.9%, water soluble extractives 11.70%, sugar 6.0% , starch 30.6% and 1.8% total volatile oil.
