About The Shakespeare Society of Southern Africa.

Established in 1987, Shakespeare in Southern Africa is the journal of the Shakespeare Society of Southern Africa. (See website at http://www.ru.ac.za/institutes/isea/shake/index.html) The Society helps people enjoy Shakespeare through theatrical and intellectual exploration, with particular attention to Shakespeare’s 'after-life' in Southern Africa. From its inception, the Society has actively striven to be more than a conventional ‘learned society’. Its activities serve the interests of a wide variety of people, from school pupils, teachers and university students, to Shakespeare enthusiasts, academics, theatrical people and cultural workers.
