The SMJ further seeks to promote inter-regional cooperation amongst medical and social scientists engaged in health care delivery and ensures the highest ethical and scientific standards in all articles and materials it accepts to publish. The SMJ shall seek to actively remedy the falling standards of ethics among practitioners and students of medicine alike, through publication of articles in medical ethics as a subject.
