Abstract

Composition and structure of gastropods in stations Marrubium vulgare L. (Labiatae) in the mounts of Tlemcen (Algeria)

An approach to the diversity of malacofauna associated with horehound was conducted at three stations belonging to the National Park of Tlemcen (mounts of Tlemcen), from February to June 2011. Species richness of gastropods is 5 divided between two families Milacidae and those of Helicidae. The first family consists of one single species Milax nigricans and the second includes two subfamilies: the Helicinae and Helicellinae respectively with three species Euparypha pisana, Macularia hieroglyphicula and M. jourdaniana and that of Helicellinae with Helicella terveri. Gastropods preferring some moisture are easily collected in winter and spring. In summer, the malacological wealth is zero. In April, the species richness is relatively high in the third station. Of the five species recorded, two are accessory and 3 other very accidental. Milax nigricans has an abundance of 1.53% in the third station (Canton Boumediene) and 0.99% in the first station (Ain Baghdad). The total density is equal to 0.8 in the second station (Canton Zarifet). A density of Milax nigricans (Milacidae) is respectively equal to 0.5 in the second and third stations.
