Abstract

Most organizations have adopted Total Quality Management (TQM) and Knowledge Management (KM) as a way of providing quality products and services to their customers. The Nigerian construction industry has been associated with poor quality performance. We examined the application of total quality management and Knowledge Management KM in the Nigerian building construction industry using secondary data. We also explored the level of awareness of TQM and the extent of its application in the Nigerian construction sector. Although the awareness was high, the application of TQM was low. The environmental factors had positive effects on the application of TQM. Regular seminars, staff training, motivation and complete customer satisfaction were recommended to boost TQM and KM in the Nigerian construction industry.
