Electronic copies of the Journal can be paid through SABINE (https://journals.co.za/journal/ajdg). Hard copies are charged. Honorary subscription is 500$ US/ 475 Euros. Ordinary subscription is as follows: African institutions 200$ US /190 Euros; Foreign (non-African) institutors 350 $ US/330 Euros; Individuals 160$ US/158 Euros; Researchers and Students 120 $US /115 Euros. A single journal issue can be purchased for 35 $ 30 Euros /60 and US $ US / 55 Euros for a double issue.
Sale of hard copies and subscription with SABINET are the two source of support for the journal that is published since 2014.
Peer Review
AJDG is a fully peer-reviewed journal. It follows a blind peer-review process. Manuscripts are submitted to the Editor-in-Chief. Names of authors and any reference that may help identify them are removed. A number is then allocated to each manuscript before it is sent out for anonymous peer-review. Three reports are required for each manuscript. It is either “accepted without change” (which is exceptional), “rejected” or “accepted conditionally”. The decision to publish or reject is made by the majority (2/3) of the peer-reviewers. The manuscript is then sent back to the author with comments from peer-reviewers requesting him or her to submit the final or the revised version to be published or suggesting changes to improve the work to make it publishable by the journal.

This journal publishes three times a year.
