Focus and Scope

African Journal of Livestock Extension is published annually. The journal is to bring to fore the role and significance of livestock keeping to rural, peri-urban and urban households, vis-à-vis its impact on poverty alleviation, household nutritional status, economic copping strategy and provision of employment. Papers to be accepted would be purely academic, positional/empirical and will be reviewed to meet a set standard. As much as possible, articles will remain as original as the author intends and so responsibility for the content and macro-formatting remain that of the author.

Original articles not published elsewhere are invited in the following areas relating to all species of livestock.
• Breeding and Genetic improvements
• Nutrition/Feeding.
• Veterinary/disease control
• Marketing/handling
• Management method: free range/tethering, semi-intensive, intensive.
• Small/unconventional livestock husbandry e.g. cane rat, snail, guinea pig, honey bee, silkworm
• Peri-urban/urban livestock husbandry.
• Livestock wastes.
Articles are, as much as possible, to generate ideas and information that can enhance the livestock industry through presentation of adoptable systems.
