Abstract

Investigations to determine whether frosted kikuyu could supply better quality foggage than natural pasturage in sourveld areas during the winter months revealed that this grass was characterised by a crude protein content of 8 - 10% in the winter months. The performance of animals grazing such frosted kikuyu was highly satisfactory.
