Continuous grazing on Cenchrus ciliarus.

Abstract

Breeding cattle grazed Cenchrus ciliaris continuously for four years. Excellent calving percentages (mean 95, 25%) and good weaning masses (mean 245 kg) were obtained, the A.D.G.'s being 0, 963 kg for heifers and 1, 075 kg for bulls. The system was planned to eliminate grazing management as a factor.
