Abstract

The tropical pasture grass Acroceras macrum Stapf is reviewed with respect to morhphology, distribution, response to climate, genetic variation and cytology, soil and nutrient requirements, establishment, utilization, management and renovation, compatibility with legumes, seed production, diseases, interveinal chlorosis, phytotoxicity, chemical composition and feeding value. Herbage production, animal production, radical veld improvement and reinforcement, and strains and cultivars available.
