Scope of the Journal

The Academy Journal of Science and Engineering (AJSE) publishes articles on well-researched theoretical, experimental, and analytical papers in all areas of Science, Technology, and Engineering. The Journal is committed to the promotion of scholarship and dissemination of knowledge. Therefore, every paper intended for publication in the Journal must show evidence of scholarship and make some definite contribution to knowledge in Science, Technology, and Engineering. Short communications, Technical or Design notes, and Book reviews are also acceptable for publication.

Submission of the Manuscript Manuscripts should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief using the online submission system.

The submission of a manuscript will be taken to imply that the contents are original, and the paper has not been published or submitted elsewhere for publication.

Author(s) will be notified of the status of their papers as soon as reports of the reviewers are received.


All papers should be written in the English Language, and spelling should generally follow the concise Oxford Dictionary of Current English.

The paper should be prepared, using the following format

Page 1 - Title page
a. The full title, preferably of less than 20 words and containing the geographical location of study
b. A running title of not more than 48 letters and space;
c. A list of 5 keywords in alphabetical order suitable for international retrieval system
d. The full name of the author (s);
e. The name of the institution where the work was carried out;
f. The present postal address of the corresponding author.

Page 2 - Abstract: This should be a single paragraph, not more than 200 words long, a concise summary of the paper intelligible on its own in conjunction with the title, without abbreviations or references.

Page 3 - The main body of the text may contain the following sections in the sequence indicated
a. Introduction
b. Method
c. Results
d. Discussion
e. Summary or Conclusion
f. Acknowledgement
g. References
h. Appendices
i. Tables, Diagrams, and Graphs
j. Legends to figures (diagrams and graphs)

Scientific namesThe complete Latin name (genus, species, and authority) must be given in full for every organism when first mentioned in the text unless a standard reference is available which can be cited.

Units of Measurement: Measurements must be in the SI unit. The minus index (m-1, mm-3) should be used except where a unit is an object. (e.g. “per/tree” not tree-1).

Abbreviations: In general abbreviations should be avoided. Numbers should be given in figures. Dates should follow the sequence day-month-year (e.g. 1 January 1999). The 24-hour clock should be used, e.g. 1315hr.

Mathematics: All Mathematical equations should be carefully written and checked so that a compositor can follow the copy easily. Greek letters, upper-and lower-case letters, superscripts, subscripts, and vectors should be identified appropriately. Equation numbers should be Arabic numerals enclosed in parentheses on the right-hand margin.

Literature Cited: APA text system for references in the text should be used. Irrespective of which of the two conventional methods of referencing is adopted, all references cited in the text should be appropriately listed at the end of the article.

Tables. Figures, Graphs, and DiagramsTables should be typed, together with their titles, on separate sheets. Column headings should be brief, with units of measurement in parentheses. Vertical lines should not be used to separate columns. The author(s) should avoid presenting tables that are too large to print across the page. Table width must not exceed 80 characters, including spaces between words, figures, and columns. Each table should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. The author(s) should mark in the margin of the text where tables, figures, graphs, and diagrams are to be inserted. All tables, figures, graphs, and diagrams must be mentioned in the text.


Assessment of Articles for Publication All articles submitted for publication are evaluated by three independent experts in the relevant subject areas. Two of the reviewers must recommend that an article be published before being considered b the Editorial Board which also subjects recommended articles to further screening.

Manuscript of Revised/Final Copy: Upon acceptance of an article for publication, a revised version of the manuscript processed with Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) should be forwarded to the Editor-In-Chief through the email info@academyjsekad.edu.ng together with an evidence of payment of 25,000 Naira.
