Antibacterial & Catalytic Activities of 2,2\'-Dithio (2-Hydroxyphenyl) Benzamide (Dnbh) and its Ruthenium Metal Complexes.
AbstractThis paper describes the in vitro evaluation of antibacterial activity of DNBH and its ruthenium complexes. All the synthesized compounds exhibited antibacterial activity against the Gram-positive bacteria namely Staphylococcus aureus at a conc of 100-25 mg/ml and Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi and Pseudomonas aeruginosa at a conc of 1µg/ml. All the metal complexes display catalytic activities towards oxidation of primary alcohols in the presence of N-methylmorpholine-N-Oxide (NMO) as co-oxidant.
