Unemployment, Entrepreneurial Education and Mega Universities: Challenges to Expanding Access in Education in Nigerian Universities

Abstract

Individuals acquire education for two broad fundamental reasons, as an investment and as consumption. The investment function of education has continued to create tension for job search leading to cases of  unemployment. Entrepreneurship education and establishment of mega universities have being identified as panacea. This paper therefore viewed the inter-play of expanding access with it accompanied challenges in a growing economy. Expansion of access to education is likely to be accompanied with challenges of job creation after schooling. It is on this basis that the paper strongly  recommends the proper implementation of the inclusion of entrepreneurial
education in both conventional and mega universities in Nigeria.
