Facteur De Condition De <i>Sarotherodon melanotheron</i> (Pisces, Cichlidae) Dans Les Eaux Douces Et Saumâtres Du Bénin

Abstract

L’étude de la condition des populations de Sarotherodon melanotheron Rüppell, 1852 en eaux douces (lac Toho et barrage de SUCOBE) et en eaux saumâtres (lagune de Porto-Novo, lac Nokoué, lagune côtière et lac Ahémé) a été réalisée entre juillet et septembre 2011 au Bénin. L’échantillonnage a porté sur 900 individus issus des pêches commerciales à raison de 150 individus par plan d’eau. Le poids corporel (Pt) et la longueur totale (Lt) ont été mesurés sur chaque poisson. Les résultats indiquent une différence significative (p < 0,05) entre la condition des populations d’eaux douces et celle des populations d’eaux saumâtres. Le facteur de condition (K) est plus élevé en eau douce (K = 5,96) qu’en eau saumâtre (K = 3,55). L’étude constitue une base pour la détermination d’une souche performante de S. melanotheron à conseiller en pisciculture au Bénin.

The study of the condition of populations of Sarotherodon melanotheron Rüppell, 1852 in freshwater (Lake Toho and dam SUCOBE) and in brackish water (lagoon of Porto-Novo, lake Nokoué, Coastal lagoon and lake Ahémé) was conducted between July and September 2011 in Benin. Sampling focused on 900 individuals from the commercials fisheries at 150 individuals in each fishing ground. The body weight (Pt) and the total length (Lt) were measured on each fish. The results indicate a significant difference (p < 0.05) between the condition of populations of freshwater and brackish water populations. The condition factor (K) is higher in fresh water (K = 5.96) than in brackish water (K = 3.55). The study provides a basis for determining performance of strain of S. melanotheron which will be advised in fish farming in Benin.
