Competition for nectar between Argentine ants (<i>Iridomyrmex humilis</i>) and honeybees (<i>Apis mellifera</i>) on black ironbark (<i>Eucalyptus sideroxylon</i>)
Abstract
Black ironbark trees secrete nectar during the night. Argentine ants collected 42% of the nectar before honeybees started foraging in the morning.
