Zulu Sofola and the Nigerian Theatre Influences and Traditions

Abstract

This paper examines two of Zulu Sofola’s works with a view to establishing the level of influence which she welds on the Nigerian stage and in the growing Nigerian feminist writings. As a pioneer female writer in Nigeria, the paper focuses on the major influences that shaped her works with a view to a better
understanding and appreciation of her role as a first female playwright and scholar in the Nigerian theatre.
