Knowledge Management for Sustainable Development: The Case for Nigeria

Abstract

This paper seeks to demonstrate that knowledge management (KM) is a function of sustainable development (SD). The authors define the two concepts and discuss both the factors that make for successful SD process and the challenges that characterize KM. The conclusion reached is hat KM is emerging as a powerful strategy for enhancing productivity as well as creating a sustainable competitive advantage for organizations, agencies and people in a global society. It is recommended that if Nigeria is to develop the capacity for gaining completive advantage, she must create and diffuse knowledge throughout the organizations, communities and societies at large.
