The Global Citizen Festival in Accra

Abstract

This commentary assesses the Global Citizen music festival held in Accra and New York city in September 2022 and provides a critical analysis of the festival, its increasing depoliticization, while simultaneously offering a critique of the psyche of the contemporary Ghanaian state.
