Abstract

Cet article explore la relation entre foi chrétienne et cultures dans la pensée du pape François. Dans un monde marqué par la pluralité et les mutations culturelles, il devient urgent d’annoncer l’évangile de manière compréhensible sans le dénaturer. François insiste sur la « culture de la rencontre » et rejette toute forme d’uniformisation. Inspiré par la théologie du peuple, il valorise une foi incarnée, enracinée dans les réalités locales. Le modèle du polyèdre, qu’il propose, permet d’articuler unité et diversité. Ce modèle refuse le relativisme comme l’impérialisme religieux. Il invite l’Église à dialoguer, à écouter et à intégrer les cultures comme partenaires dans la mission.

This article explores the relationship between the Christian faith and different cultures, in the ideas of Pope Francis. In a world characterised by diversity and cultural change, the urgent need to proclaim the Gospel in an understandable way without distorting its message is becoming increasingly apparent. Francis emphasises the ‘culture of encounter’ and rejects all forms of standardisation. Inspired by the theology of the people, he champions an incarnate faith that is grounded in local realities. The polyhedron model he proposes enables unity and diversity to coexist. This model rejects both relativism and religious imperialism. It encourages the Church to engage in dialogue, listen to others and integrate cultures as partners in mission.
