Unilateral absent right pulmonary artery: A rare disorder with successful outcome
Abstract
Unilateral absent pulmonary artery (UAPA) is a rare congenital absence of either the right or left pulmonary artery. Congenital unilateral absence of the pulmonary artery is more often right-sided and typically an isolated defect, however absence of the left pulmoanry artery is more frequently accompanied by other heart defects. Herein we report a case of an 11-month-old infant who was diagnosed with an absent right pulmonary artery at 3 month of age and underwent successful surgical correction.
