Peer Review

EJOTMAS is double blind peer-reviewed.  The manuscripts are sent to specialists in the various strands of theatre and media studies within and outside Nigeria. The reviewers are usually given a maximum of three months to turn in their review reports. After this, the editorial board meets to take decisions based on the reviewers’ reports. There are normally five broad categorizations of assessed papers, namely, paper accepted in its present form, paper accepted subject to minor corrections, paper accepted subject to moderate corrections, paper accepted subject to major corrections and paper rejected because of lack of originality, organic unity, and accuracy of the of the facts presented. The appropriate reports are then communicated to the contributors. Owners of papers that are subject to either minor or moderate or major revisions are given a minimum of one month to rework them and turn them in. Once the papers are turned in the board meets again to see if the observations raised have been addressed by contributors after which a final decision is taken by the board and letters of acceptance are sent to the contributors.
