Abstract

The change in the process of doing banking transactions in Nigeria for some years now has been attributed to the incorporation of electronic media and technology into Nigerian banking systems. The Nigerian banking sector has witnessed growth concerning modern banking systems, which is comparable to banks in the developed world. Therefore, this study employed a literature-based analysis by evaluating the relationship between electronic banking transactions and customers’ bank products and services knowledge. A framework of bank products and services knowledge towards improved customer electronic banking (e-banking) transactions was built based on the positive relationship that resulted from previous literature evaluated. This study has succeeded in conceptualizing bank products and services knowledge as a mechanism that enhances the smooth transaction of banking products by customers using the electronic platform. Consequently, the framework is recommended for policy-makers in the banking sectors to use in improving the level of bank customer electronic banking usage.
