The post-independence era in Nigeria has witnessed many women actors at the communal, local government, state and national levels. The study used extensive oral interview with Chinyere Nwanoke and other randomly selected respondents of Isu origin to document the contributions of Nwanoke towards the political, economic and social development of Isuokoma. The study calls for the increased socio-political and economic empowerment of Isuokoma women.
