Extension Agents\' Commitment To Extension Work In Abia And Rivers States, Nigeria

Abstract



The study explored the level of job commitment of extension agents in Abia and
Rivers States Agricultural Development Programmes (ADPs.). A structured and validated inventory scale titled: “Job Commitment Inventory Scale” was administered to 89 and 61 respondents randomly selected from a population of 112 and 117 extension agents in Abia and Rivers States ADPs. respectively. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistical tools such as frequency, percentage and mean. The result showed that extension agents in both States ADPs are highly committed to their extension service jobs (Abia State ADP, mean = 37.17; Rivers State ADP, mean = 37.49).
