Abstract

This study was carried out to determine extension agents’ usage of folk media for extension service delivery in Kaduna State, Nigeria. A sample size of 30 extension agents was selected using a combination of purposive and simple random sampling techniques. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used in data analysis. Specifically, logit regression analysis was done to determine effect of extension agents’ attitude on folk media usage. Low level of folk media usage for extension work was recorded. The result further shows that age (P=0.073) and marital status (P=0.066) significantly affect extension agents’ attitude towards folk media usage. It is recommended that the use folk media be integrated into the policy framework of agricultural and rural development to encourage extension agents to use them since they are known to be effective means of communication in rural areas.
