Abstract
Two important Dutch versions of the Heidelberg Catechism; A comparison between the Middelburg text of 1611 and the Dordrecht textof 1725 This is a formal comparison between two important editions of the Heidelberg Catechism, prepared by Faukelius and Thysius respectively, in the beginning of the seventeenth century. The comparison shows that there was a relatively free attitude towards the text itself and towards the scriptural references accompanying the text, indicating that no Dutch translation really attained to the status of a final version.
