Abstract

Convenience, notably among other benefits of distance education, is the most obvious. While many civil servants and businessmen have availed themselves of this mode of education to improve their educational qualifications, institutions also use the leverage of this mode of education for optimal utilization of the few available infrastructure, equipment and human resources. Though Information and Communication Technology (ICT) provides the contemporary tools for running a more efficient and qualitative distance education by using multimedia, network, telecommunications and Internet resources, its implementation is not left without challenges. Therefore, this article is poised to proffering recommendations that would curb the challenges to ensure effective and sustainable ICT-driven distance education in Nigeria.
