This research investigates the influence of forgiveness as a tool in enhancing marital stability among married undergraduates of a Nigerian University. A total of 1000 undergraduate students of National Open University of Nigeria, Ilorin Study Centre were randomly selected for investigation. The t-test and ANOVA Statistics were used to compare the perception of married undergraduate on the basis of gender and length of marriage. The findings show that most of the respondents agree to the statement that forgiveness can predict better marital stability and also enhances romantic relationship. It was also found that there was significant difference in the perception of married undergraduate on the influence of forgiveness as a tool in enhancing marital stability based on length of marriage whereas there was no significant difference on the basis of gender. Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended, amongst others, that couples should be encouraged to seek, grant forgiveness and try as much as possible to know the likes and dislikes of each other. Couples should also learn to settle their dispute themselves and counsellors in their various capacities should assume active role in providing marital guidance that can facilitate cordial relationship especially in the area of forgiveness.
