Acta Theologica

Acta Theologica is an accredited South African journal publishing independently refereed research articles on religion and theology. The Editorial Board will consider articles in English, Afrikaans, German and Dutch, written from any responsible point of view on subjects in any applicable field of scholarship. Before publication all contributions are refereed anonymously by at least two other scholars who are recognised as experts in the particular subject area.

HTS Teologiese Studies / Theological Studies

As an academic journal HTS disseminates the results of the theological research of national and international scholars. It has a wide multi-disciplinary scope and supports theologians, philosophers, scholars, ministers of religion and specialists in religious, social and economically related subjects by providing them with research results. The journal covers theology in it broadest sense and therefore publishes articles linked with a variety of other study fields, has a multi-disciplinary, multi-church, inter-faith, and multi-religious focus and scope. Articles cover, among others, aspects of religious studies, philosophy, ancient Semitic and classical languages, sociology and ethics. HTS Teologiese Studies /Theological Studies is committed to the capacity building of young scholars.

Journal for Islamic Studies

The Journal for Islamic Studies (JIS) is a peer-reviewed journal and is included in the list of Approved Journals compiled by the Department of Education of the republic of South Africa. The Journal is published by the Centre for Contemporary Islam, based at the University of Cape Town; and is indexed in the ATLA Religion Database ® a product of the American Theological Library Association. It is committed to the publication of original research on Islam as culture and civilization. It particularly welcomes work of an interdisciplinary nature that brings together history, religion, politics, culture and law.  The Journal has a special focus on Islam in Africa, and on contemporary Islamic Thought. All articles are subject to review by experts in the field.
