Ijeoma Joy Chikezie

Abstract

This study examined the demographic variables of STEM educators and their   perceptions of inclusive STEM education in a regular classroom in Aba education zone  of Abia State. A casual-comparativeresearch design was adopted. The study was   guided by one research question and five null hypotheses. One hundred and four STEM  educators were selected for the study. Data were collected using an adapted structured  questionnaire tagged Teachers' Perception of Inclusive Education Questionnaire  (TPIEQ). The instrument elicited demographic information of the participants and  issues pertaining to inclusive education. The finding revealed that there is no  statistical  significant difference in the perceptions of STEM educators on inclusive education based on gender, age, years of teaching experience, level of awareness, and training in special education. It was recommended that government should organize  seminars and workshop on inclusive education for teachers so that they will be fully aware of what the policy is all about.
