Focus and Scope

The Journal of Medicine and Biomedical Research is published by the College of Medical Sciences, University of Benin to encourage research into primary health care. The journal will publish original research articles, reviews, editorials, commentaries, case reports and letters to the editor. Articles are welcome in all branches of medicine and dentistry including basic sciences (anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, psychology, etc) and clinical sciences (internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental surgery, child health, laboratory sciences, radiology, community medicine, etc). Articles are also welcome from social science researchers that document the intermediating and background social factors influencing health in developing countries. Priority will be given to publication of articles that describe the application of the principles of primary health care in the prevention and treatment diseases

Peer Review Process

We request for three sets of the manuscript, two are sent out to two different reviewers. If there is unusual delay and one reviewer’s report has been received, another manuscript is sent to a completely different reviewer.

Acceptance or rejection is based on the comments of at least two reviewers and the Editorial Board. The comments are summarised by the editor-in-chief considering the Editor’s comment together with the reviewers comments, the authors are asked to make necessary correction. When the corrections have been satisfactorily done a letter of acceptance is issued to the author. Soft and hard copies of the manuscript are now requested for. While the soft copy is sent to the printer, the hard copy is kept in a file in the editorial office
