Stroke-related Wernicke's Aphasia Mistaken for Psychosis: A Case Report

Abstract

Patients with isolated Wernicke' aphasia present a variety of challenges to healthcare providers, The presentation of speech and language problems, especially with the features seen in Wernicke's aphasia, can be misinterpreted as psychiatric disorders. The authors present the case of a man who sustained a right-sided stroke-related Wernicke's aphasia mistaken for psychosis.
