Involvement of Women In Community Development Process In Ikeduru Local Government Area Of Imo State

Abstract

Women participation in community development process was investigated. Data were collected using structured questionnaire and interview schedule from 110 rural women from the study area. Simple descriptive statistics were used to analyses data. The result of the study showed that majority of the respondents were between 31 and 40 years majority (47%) had primary education, majority (73.64%) were not involved in decision making process concerning community development. However, community projects embarked on included health centres (69%), schools (33%), women should be involved in decision making process concerning community development.
