Farmer Education As a Necessary Tool For Poverty Alleviation.

Abstract

This paper highlights farmer education as a necessary tool for poverty alleviation in Nigeria. The concept of farmer is explained and juxtaposed with agricultural extension education. The poverty situation in Nigeria is mentioned. The paper also presented the farmer education teaching methods and services models. It is finally presented that efficient and cost-effective farmer education will boost the capacity of 70% of Nigerians (rural dwellers) to increase their output.
