Teaching and Learning Spanish in the Kenyan multilingual Society: Strengths and Challenges

JN Muasya

Abstract

The fact that there are persons who show an interest in learning a foreign language shows that the human person is not satisfied with communicating only with members of his linguistic society. It can be said that he feels the urge to cross physical, social and mental barriers in order to establish interpersonal relations for the purpose of
communicating and sharing ideas, sentiments, etc. This interaction results in man's
personal growth and of the knowledge of the world around him, and this will in turn
work towards bringing about the reality of the global village that modern man is in
search of establishing.
