Abstract

Thin films of Zinc Sulphide (ZnS) were grown on glass substrate by electrodeposition technique. The optical characterization of the grown films (ZnS) was done by using a Janway 6405 UV-VIS spectrophotometer in the range of 300-900nm using a step size of 20. The effect of deposition potential variationon the films optical properties such as transmittance, reflectance and absorption coefficient squared were calculated. The absorbance of the films was found to be in the range of 0.1-0.9%, while the transmittance and reflectance were found to be in the range of 0.1-0.9% and -0.01-0.2% respectively. The average band gap energy was also determined to be 2.8eV.
