Abstract

Midlife is a period in life riddled with numerous psychologically challenging occurrences including boredom, decreased sense of self-worth, lack of satisfaction and the like. Such usually lead to depression that affects the overall efficiency and productivity. The midlife crisis is the boiling point of this state of psychological imbalance and is characterized by feelings of intense depression, remorse, and high levels of anxiety, or the desire to achieve youthfulness or make drastic changes to the current lifestyle or feel the wish to change past decisions and events. Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to ameliorate such states and can be very beneficial to persons in this age category. In addition to their being effective in handling brain dysfunctions, they also have utility in the management of eye diseases, cancers, growth and child development.
