Business process reengineering (BPR) is one of such pertinent ideals, known to have made the difference not only in banking and allied financial institutions but also in manufacturing and other commercial/industrial organizations, in many parts of the world. This study examined the experience of 3 out of the 5 oldest banks in Nigeria chi-square (X2) statistical technique was used in analyzing the primary data got mainly through questionnaire administration. The results significantly affirmed the efficacy of BPR and its generational relevance. Nigerian banks and other business organizations are expected to demonstrate utmost managerial objectivity and social responsibility to maximize the gains of BPR.
