Analyse comparative des systemes de production du coton biologique et du coton conventionnel au Benin

Abstract

Cet article fait une analyse économique de deux systèmes de production du coton au Bénin à savoir, le coton biologique et le coton conventionnel. Pour ce faire une brève description des caractéristiques technico-économiques de chacun des deux types de cultures a été présentée. En utilisant les données collectées lors d’une enquête au niveau de 90 exploitations cotonnières (dont 49 au niveau du coton conventionnel et 31 pour celui du coton biologique) des zones de production et les données secondaires collectées au niveau des services d’Etat, des budgets de culture du coton ont été établis. Les outils d’analyse se résument en des tableaux statistiques, des ratio de rentabilité (marges brute et nette), des ratios coût-bénéfices et des tests statistiques de comparaison de deux moyennes (coton biologique et coton conventionnel). Enfin l’article en déduit des implications de stratégies de développement durable du coton dans la zone d’étude.

This article makes an economic analysis of two systems of production of the cotton in Benin know the biological cotton and the conventional cotton. To this end a brief description of the technico-economic characteristics of each of both types of cultures was presented. By using the data collected during a survey at the level of 90 cotton exploitations (among which 49 at the level of the conventional cotton and 31 for the one of the biological cotton) zones of production and the secondary data collected at the level of the departments of State, budgets of culture of the cotton were established. The tools of analysis are statistical tables, ratio of profitability ((gross and net margins), ratio cost-profits and statistical tests of comparison of two average (conventional and biological cotton). Finally the article deducts some implications of strategies of sustainable development of the cotton in the zone of study.
