<i>La Demeninge</i> de Daniel Lawson-Body, une mixture de l’amour Agape et Eros

Abstract

Dans son premier roman La Déméninge, Lawson Body nous présente un récit qui a pour toile de fond le sujet complexe de l’amour. Du début à la fin du texte, les protagonistes se dévoilent en train de vivre l’amour sous toutes ses formes, marqué de ruptures, de représailles, de réconciliation, de gel et de dégel. Même si le roman se distingue par la prééminence de l’amour charnel Eros, le caractère érotique justement, qui se laisse voir, n’est qu’un aspect de l’amour sous toutes ses formes de représentation, à savoir, le désir de l’autre, le don de soi, la reconnaissance, le pardon…Toutefois, dans tout cet ensemble, Eros et Agapè se distinguent nettement dans le roman à travers la relation à la fois éblouissante que tumultueuse d’un séminariste, DB…. et d’une nymphe, R…
