Abstract



Environmental issues will be the foremost important in the 21st century. Veterinarians can and should become involved due to their unique training and skills. A veterinarian, training crosses species lines, invokes multiple disciplines and requires holistic diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. Examples of actions that can be taken by a veterinarian are given. Veterinarians must recognize their role, become involved in the issues and teach their clients. The veterinarian is a link between man and animals and is study bound to care for both. How can a cow be made truly healthy, its milk wholesome and the consumer satisfied if the environment in which the cow lives
